Habit & Habitat:
A deciduous spiny tree up to 8-10 m tall, found in temperate zone.
Plant Description:
Leaves simple, ovate or rhombic in outline, deeply and sharply lobed. Inflorescence a corymb, 3-4 cm in diameter, many-flowered. Flower actinomorphic, white.Sepals-5,triangular.Petals-5, round. Fruit a pome, fleshy, dark red, globose.
Flowering and Fruiting:
April-August.
Harvesting Time:
May-October.
Medicinal Value:
Leaves, flowers and haws are cardiac and circulating tonic, treating heart weakness caused by kidney disease, thickening tissues, artery spasm and irregular heart beat. [5] Take Hawthorn in palpitations, atherosclerosis, angina, hypertension and nervousness.[9] Locally a tea has been introduced in Poonch Area.

Bark, fruit, flower and leaf.
Occurrence:
Uncommon.
