Habit & Habitat:
A branched leafy annual herb, up to 60 cm tall, found in temperate zone.
Plant Description:
Leaves simple, elliptic-ovate, acuminate, glandular towards the base. Inflorescence a subterminal raceme. Flower zygomorphic, yellow,streaked red in throat. Lateral sepals green, lower sepals funnel shaped, narrowed into recurved spur. Fruit a capsule, 20-30mm long, linear and erect. Seed oblong.

July-September.
Harvesting Time:
August-October.
Medicinal Value:
Locally paste is used in burns as a cooling tonic, also has antibiotic properties useful in skin diseases. Aqueous extract is antipyretic.
