Habit & Habitat:
A tree up to 20 m tall, found in temperate and sub-alpine zones.
Plant Description:
Bark dark gray and ridged. Leaves simple heart shaped,glabrous to hairy. Male flower in catkins up to 20 cm long, yellow-green. Female flowers in woody cones. Fruit a nut, winged.
Flowering and Fruiting:
August-September.
Harvesting Time:
September-November.
Medicinal Value:
Leaf infusion makes a refreshing bath for sore foot. Different colors red, pink, green and yellow are obtained from different parts of this plant.[5] Locally leaf poultice relives pain and swelling.

Occurrence:
Uncommon.
