Habit & Habitat:
A perennial fern with rosette of fronds arise from rhizome, found in moist places of sub-tropical and temperate zones.
Plant Description:
Stem erect, unbranched,12-16cm tall. Scales lanceolate, black with brown margins.Leaves monomorphic, thick, pinnatifid , narrowly elliptic to narrowly lanceolate. Petiole dark brown. Rachis brown in colour,scaly beneath. Sori long narrow, 3-7 per pinna.Spores pale brown, 64 per sporangium.
Flowering and Fruiting:
July-December.
Harvesting Time:
August-December.
Medicinal Value:
Extract is useful in snakebites and also used as an anthelmentic and vermifuge. Locally its extract in oil is an effective remedy for eczema.

Very common at damp places.
