Plant Description:
Leaf triangular, obtuse, base truncate. Petiole longer than lamina. Stipules free, dentate. Flower zygomorphic, 5-15mm long, purplish-lilac. Sepals lanceolate, acute, entire. Fruit a capsule, oblong and glabrous.
Flowering and Fruiting:
March-May.
Harvesting Time:
March-September.
Medicinal Value:
It is useful in fever, cough, headache and sore throat.[5] Locally whole plant decoction is used for treatment of jaundice, flu, headache and stomach disorders.Powder of flower mixed with white lump sugar is an excellent remedy for chronic constipation.
