Habit & Habitat:
A rhizomatous tender herb up to 20cm tall, found in sub-tropical zone.
Plant Description:
Leaves simple, long petioled, cordate, double serrate, upper surface hairy. Inflorescence terminal. Male flower with two outer segments which are pink and sub-orbicular to ovate. Female flower with 5 ovate-oblong segments. Fruit a capsule, winged. Seed brown, oval.
Flowering and Fruiting:
July-September.
Harvesting Time:
July-October.
Medicinal Value:
Locally extract of whole plant is used for treatment of jaundice and scurvy.
Part Used:
Whole plant.
Occurrence:
Uncommon.
Future Perspective:
Conservation, Cultivation, Chemical analysis, Herbal Pharmacy.
