An annual semi prostrate hairy herb, found in sub-tropical zone.
Taxonomic Features:
Leaves simple, oblanceolate to lanceolate, hairy on both sides. Inflorescence terminal, few-flowered. Flower actinomorphic, showy, mauve to pinkish-blue. Corolla bell shaped.Anther hairy. Fruit nutlets type,fragment when ripe, 4-5mm long, ovoid, smooth, white to bluish.
Flowering and Fruiting:
March-August.
Harvesting Time:
April-November.
Medicinal Value:
Locally whole plant is used in powder, halwah and in extract form for back pain. Plant extract is used in abdominal pain and kidney stone problems.
