Habit and Habitat:
A perennial, unbranched herb, found in temperate and sub-alpine zones.
Taxonomic Features:
Leaves compound, imparipinnate. Leaflets 5-13 in number, elliptic to ovate, toothed and densely hairy on underside. Inflorescence a spike, bearing many small flowers. Flower actinomorphic,spicate, generally yellow, 5mm across. Sepals-5. Petals-5. Fruit an achene in closed hypanthium,prickly,ribbed.
Flowering and Fruiting:
May-October.
Harvesting Time:
August-November.
Medicinal Value:
It treats gastritis, cystitis, kidney stone, cough, sore throat, also has powerful blood coagulant properties. [5] Locally decoction of root used to cure kidney problems,tuberculosis and leucorrhoea.

Whole plant.
Occurrence:
Common at high altitudes.

Conservation, Herbal Pharmacy, Allopathic Pharmacy.
