- Leaves compound, imparipinnate. Leaflets 5-13 in number, elliptic to ovate, toothed and densely hairy on underside. Inflorescence a spike, bearing many small flowers. Flower actinomorphic,spicate, generally yellow, 5mm across. Sepals-5. Petals-5. Fruit an achene in closed hypanthium,prickly,ribbed.
