A deciduous tree up to 20m tall, found in sub-tropical zone.
Taxonomic Features:
Leaves compound,pinnate.Leaflets lanceolate-oblong, entire, acute, 4-8 pairs. Inflorescence terminal panicles. Flower greenish-yellow,subsessile.Sepals elliptic, oblong-ovate,grandular at tips.Petals lanceolate-ovate,ciliate. Fruit a berry, globose hard or coriaceous when dry,yellow-brown.Seed-1,black-dark brown.
Flowering and Fruiting:
July- December.
Harvesting Time:
October-March.
Medicinal Value:
Locally used in cough,tuberculosis and leucoderma. Fruit extract is used in face creams and also as antidote.
