- A perennial, prostrate herb with upright stem, common in sub-tropical and temperate zones.
- Taxonomic Features:
- Leaves with silver patches, and pointed lobes, hastate (arrow head- shaped), pale green, with petiole of same length as that of blade. Inflorescence terminal panicles with erect divergent branches. Flower small, pinkish. Perianth segments ovate-elliptic, valve thin, nerved orbiculate-cordate. Fruit a nut, up to 2mm long and brown.

- Medicinal Value:
- Locally used to cure jaundice and sunstrokes, also used as refrigerant, diuretic and antiscorbutic. Local herbalists use it in high blood pressure and also used for abortion.
